Dear King-Westwood Families,
We hope you and your family had a restful Spring Break. As we begin the last marking period of the school year, please be sure to continue to check your child’s backpack for homework and continue your routine of nightly reading. Both of these routines will contribute to the success of your child, both at school and in life!
It was great to see so many of our parents/guardians at our recent Parent-Teacher Conferences. We always aim to meet with 100% of our families, so if you didn’t get a chance to meet with your child’s teacher(s), please get in touch with your child’s teacher. It is important to know how your child is progressing in school, so we can work together to make sure your child is ready for the next step in his/her educational journey.
On behalf of the King-Westwood staff, I would like to take this opportunity to thank our wonderful parents for the three delicious meals they provided during our recent Parent-Teacher Conferences. We are so blessed to have such a fabulous PTO, which includes equally fabulous parents! P-T Conference days are so rewarding for our staff, because we get to connect with all of you, but they are also long days, in terms of hours spent at school. Your generosity with the meals is very much appreciated!!
This edition of the newsletter has an important attachment. You will find information about our student dress code. Please read over the information and review it with your child(ren). We expect all students to come to school dressed for success and ready to learn, which means the child’s clothing is not distracting to him/her or others.
April showers bring May flowers…..but they also bring mud, some chilly temperatures, and some hot temperatures. Thank you for making sure your child comes to school prepared for the changing temperatures that western Michigan offers, but yet to be productive and successful each day in class.
I am always available to meet or talk with parents at any time. Please don’t hesitate to call, e-mail or stop by. I look forward to seeing you around school.
