First Saturday at KPL

On August 4, 2012, Kalamazoo Public Library and Kalamazoo Public Schools will sponsor First Saturday, from 2 p.m. - 4 p.m., at the Central Library’s Children’s Room. This new initiative, now in its sixth month, encourages families to make library visits a fun, vital part of their lives. Hundreds of parents and children have attended the First Saturday events so far! This month, special musical guest Kevin Kammeraad presents “Can you think it, can you dream it?” with puppets, music, and stories.

About Partners and Cosponsors: Other organizations are partnering with KPL and KPS in the First Saturday initiative. Each month, one or more of the partners cosponsor the First Saturday event. Partner organizations currently include Boys & Girls Club of Kalamazoo, Communities In Schools of Kalamazoo, Kalamazoo County Ready 4s, Kalamazoo Literacy Council, Goodwill Industries of Southwest Michigan, NAACP and the Northside Ministerial Alliance.
