KPS To Pilot Virtual College Fair

Families Will Be Able to Participate in Livestream Visits

Kalamazoo Public Schools will be piloting a virtual college tour system in December. The online event kicks off Dec. 3 with a presentation by Bob Jorth, executive director of the Kalamazoo Promise at 7 p.m. Dec. 3.

It continues through Dec. 13 with presentations by Alma College and Aquinas College on Dec. 4, Madonna University on Dec. 5, University of Detroit Mercy and Calvin College on Dec. 6, Albion College on Dec. 11, Spring Arbor University on Dec. 12, and Hillsdale College on Dec. 13.

The events will be interactive livestreams, during which guests can participate in discussions with college students and faculty through a chat feature. Families and students will be able to access the recorded content after Dec. 13.

Please note that this is a pilot for KPS students and families.

“We hope to provide students and families with access to many more colleges and universities in Michigan through this platform in the future,” said Tracy Miller, technology integration specialist for KPS.
