Urgent Message

On Friday, May 10, 2019, Gov. Gretchen Whitmer signed into law the bill that will allow districts not to have to make up the so-called polar vortex days of Jan. 29-Feb. 1, 2019.

As Gov. Whitmer stated, “The law gives certainty to families and school districts that need to prepare for the end of the year.”

To that end, the last student day of school for Kalamazoo Public Schools will remain June 13, 2019, and the last teacher work day will remain June 14, 2019.

We thank you for your patience as we waited for the bill to be signed into law.
