Kalamazoo Central will be hosting physicals for high school and middle school students on Thursday May 24th at 6:00 PM in the auditorium. This is open to all KPS students. This as an opportunity for our students to get their physicals for next school year. Physicals are $25.

 

 

 

THERE STILL WILL BE AN ALL WINTER/SPRING SPORTS TEAM BANQUET MAY 21 IN THE CAFETERIA AT 5PM.

 

2018   Track information

Our goals for the season are to run competitively and for each athlete to strive to reach their potential in their running and field events.  To successfully meet these goals each team member is expected to train hard at practice and make school and track a priority.  

To participate in track you must have:  a physical turned in to Mr. Whitely by March 16th , Have an overall GPA of 2.0 to compete (1.5 to train) and  attend practice the week of march 19th.   You may check with Mr. Whitely to make sure you have a physical on file. 

Practices start Monday March 19, 2018. We will practice from 2:45-4:15 this first week. You must attend practice this first week in order to be on the team. (No exceptions!)

Practice times:  Monday – Thursday   2:45 – 4:15   or 4:30. For safety reasons, please arrange to have your athlete picked up on time from all practices and after meets  

You will need: running shoes, sweatshirt, sweatpants and a water bottle at each practice. We will practice outside so if cold, bring a hat and gloves.

 

Each athlete is expected to:

1. Be on time, dressed and ready to run at the start of practice.  

2. Give 100% effort each practice

3. Treat others respectfully 

4. Attend all practices.   An unexcused absence will result in sitting out one meet.  If a second unexcused absence occurs, the athlete may be asked to leave the team. Attending Tutoring each week is not considered excused. (If you feel you cannot miss tutoring each week than track this year may not be for you.  Academics  should be your  priority)

Attention Athletes

 

Sports Physicals

 

All Maple Street athletes must have a sports physical on file to participate. Physicals must have been completed after April 15, 2017 for the 2017-2018 school year. If you have not received a new physical after that date, one must be obtained to participate in Maple Street athletics. Sports physicals can be obtained through your family doctor or any walk-in clinic.

SPORTS INSURANCE

Each athlete must pay a $15.00 sports insurance fee. This is a one time fee for 2017-2018 athletes.
